BkyB have reached agreement with Spain’s Telefonica to acquire their UK consumer broadband and fixed phone line services which are currently branded as O2 and BE. The deal, which is subject to regulatory approval, would see Sky become the second largest UK broadband provider.]]>

Virgin Media Change Traffic Management Hours

The evening download Virgin Media traffic management period will now expire at 10:00pm instead of 9:00pm. Upload restriction timings are unchanged at 9:00pm. The data thresholds do not alter, nor does the duration of the restriction, so Virgin Media claim the same number of people would be affected.]]>

US Cable Giant Liberty Global to buy Virgin Media

It has been confirmed today that Cable giant Liberty Global, is to buy Virgin Media in a deal valued at £15billion. With the cash and stock deal – which Liberty Global said is valued at $23.3billion (£15billion) – is subject to approval by shareholders. The US Cable firm, Liberty Global – is owned by John Malone and once it merges with Virgin Media, would have a combined 25 Million Customers in 14 Countries.]]>

Broadband is Totally Unlimited at BT

From today, BT retail will be offering totally unlimited broadband on all but their entry level products. The services will be free of data limits or speed throttling. BT are also reducing some charges. ]]>

Virgin Apprentices Graduate

Virgin Media have employed some 250 graduates from their latest apprenticeship intake. This is a five fold increase from the scheme that started in 2008. Over 700 have been recruited since inception. Virgin Media will be selecting their next intake this Summer.]]>
